When Less is More

March 29, 2018

“Less is More” is what a friend told me one time and I thought, "that doesn't make sense".  However, as time has passed, I now get it.  It doesn’t mean that we do nothing, because we grow through challenges. Instead, we must not push ourselves so hard. We must learn to be less critical of ourselves and not compare ourselves to others.  The Self can be the worst enemy we have, because of the negative bullying it can generate in us.  Harder is not always better.  JJ Brown’s quote is  “Gentle is the new advanced.”

Furthermore, how we treat ourselves as we move in exercise or yoga has an affect on our brain.  We do not need to push ourselves to create more armor, pain and shortness of breath.  The challenge is to move within our limits, accepting where we are with love, compassion and care.
